Try to swing yourself into a flow state when Swarm swings its way onto the Oculus Quest 1 and 2 on April 8.
Developed and distributed by Greensky Games, Swarm aims to bring fast-paced grappling and shooting action to the Oculus Quest early next month. Armed with pistols and a grappling hook, you’ll need to swing and blast your way through waves of enemies, racking up points to climb the leaderboards.
Focusing on quick sessions in bright and colorful worlds, Swarm aims for you to enter a flow state as you swing around with your guns out. Sounding a bit like Yupitegrad and Spiderman with guns, the developer says you’ll need to act quickly and strategize if you want to battle your way into the heart of the Swarm. That may sound like a vomit fest, but the whole team here at Pure Play VR (that’s only Chris and I, but still…) felt Yupitegrad, which uses a similar grappling hook technique was remarkably motion sickness-free. Check out the new launch trailer below:
Swarm currently features a single-player mode only, but the developer said over on Reddit today that some form of multiplayer is coming as the first addition post-release. Not sure if that’s PvP, co-op, or something else entirely. Wishlist Swarm now on the Quest store and pick it up on April 8.
