2MD VR Football Unleashed Get’s a Release Date and Oculus Cross Buy Support

2MD VR Football Unleashed, from developer Truant Pixel, brings American football to the Oculus Quest on January 9. We knew the Quest version was coming, but a brand new Rift / Rift S version with full cross-buy was an unexpected but awesome surprise. If you don’t know, 2MD VR Football Unleashed brings the excitement of the two-minute drill to your favorite headset. As the quarterback, it’s up to you to drive your team down the field. Will you lead a last-minute touchdown drive and be the hero, or will you throw that costly interception and be the goat? Or the G.O.A.T? Jeez, all of these sports metaphors get confusing.

The PSVR and Steam version have been out for over a year, and they are great. They feature the ability to completely create your own playbook. Each receiver runs the route you create. You can hand the ball off, make like Lamar Jackson and run it yourself, or stand back in the pocket tossing dimes. It’s up to you.

The Rift S version looks great, as you can see from the new trailer below, with improved graphics and a new replay mode, but it’s the untethered nature of the Quest version that has me excited to throw down my money on another copy of this game. Rest assured, I will be outside come January 9th, dodging my dogs and playing virtual football like the universe always intended.
